Gunnison, Colo.    Mountaineer Volleyball hosts New Mexico Highlands and Black Hills State for an RMAC Power Pod weekend Thursday October 31, Friday November 1, and Saturday November 2.
 
WESTERN COLORADO GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
  • Western Colorado Volleyball comes off a huge home victory against South Dakota Mines 3-1, last Tuesday evening.
  • The Mountaineers placed 13th in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the match 9-12 overall and 6-4 in conference.
  • WCU has a total of 1037 kills, 947 assists, 116 aces, 1340 digs, and 118 blocks so far this season.
  • Senior setter Nur Turkmenoglu has control on both sides of the ball with 799 total assists (9.74 per set), 70 kills, 26 service aces, 166 digs and 27 blocks.
  • Senior Seyun Park paves the way with 245 total kills (3.18 per set). After her is junior Pelin Aksoy  with 179 total kills (2.52 per set). Tied for third are junior Olive Rolseth with 169 kills (2.25 per set) and senior Kennedy Kelly  with 169 kills (2.14 per set).
  • Sophomore Chinaru Inoue is the front runner for digs with 371 (4.52 per set). Sophomore Kacee Garcia also adds to digs with 173 (2.22 per set). Contributing to both the offense and the defense is sophomore Kyra Kidd with 120 total kills (1.46) and 61 total blocks.
NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
  • The Cowgirls placed 15th in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the weekend with an overall record of 4-16 overall and 2-8 in conference.
  • Highlands is coming off losses to RMAC opponents South Dakota mines and Black Hills State.
  • NMH has accumulated 688 total kills, 633 total assists, 67 total aces, 1028 total digs and 112 total blocks so far this season.
  • Senior Angelina Burton paces the offense with 172 total kills (2.36 per set). Right with her is sophomore Jaylee Gonzales contributing 161 kills (2.27 per set).
  • Junior setter Abby Carlsen has racked up 431 assists (5.99 per set).
  • The defense is controlled by freshman Meg Pfannerstill with 171 digs (2.34 per set) then freshman Olivia Archuleta with 168 digs (2.33 per set) along with senior Jada Lawson who is top in blocks with 58.
BLACK HILLS STATE GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
  • The Yellow Jackets placed 14th in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the weekend with an overall record of 5-15 overall and 1-9 in conference.
  • Black Hills is coming off two a home victory against New Mexico Highlands 3-1.
  • BHSU has accumulated 882 total kills, 807 total assists, 120 total aces, and 1251 total digs and 20 total blocks so far this season.
  • Senior Brooke Miller paces the offense with 200 total kills (3.17 per set). Right with her is graduate student Abigail Renner contributing 198 kills (2.68 per set).
  • Junior setter Sydnie Tuioti-Mariner has racked up 483 assists (6.53 per set).
  • The defense is controlled by junior Ellie Thomas with 332 digs (4.49 per set) then Miller with 211 digs (3.35 per set) along with redshirt junior Randi Wellhoefer who is top in blocks with 65.
