Gunnison, Colo.   The Western Colorado Volleyball team hosts RMAC opponents UCCS on Friday, October 25 at 6pm and Regis on Saturday, October 26 at 5pm.


WESTERN COLORADO GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
  • Western Colorado Volleyball goes into the weekend with a three-game win streak, most recently defeating New Mexico Highlands on the road 3-1.
  • The Mountaineers placed thirteenth in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the weekend 7-11 overall and 4-3 in conference.
  • WCU has a total of 876 kills, 798 assists, 96 aces, 1144 digs, and 101 blocks so far this season.
  • Senior setter Nur Turkmenoglu has control on both sides of the ball with 670 total assists (9.44 per set), 59 kills, 23 service aces, 137 digs and 23 blocks. Senior Seyun Park paves the way with 192 total kills (2.91 per set). After her is junior Pelin Aksoy  with 154 total kills (2.57 per set). A close third is junior Olive Rolseth with 144 kills (2.25 per set) then senior Kennedy Kelly  with 142 kills (2.09 per set).
  • Sophomore Chinaru Inoue is the front runner for digs with 320 (4.51 per set). Followed by sophomore Kacee Garcia with 174 (2.19 per set). Contributing to the defense is sophomore Kyra Kidd with 51 total blocks.
  • Western Colorado played well on both sides of the ball in their previous games and look to keep their winning streak alive.
COLORADO SPRINGS GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
  • The Mountain Lions placed eleventh in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll. They go into the weekend with an overall record of 9-9 overall and 4-4 in conference.
  • Colorado Springs is coming off a split weekend at home, dropping game to #17 Colorado Mesa (1-3) and defeating Westminster (3-0).
  • UCCS has accumulated 884 total kills, 791 total assists, 108 total aces, and 1097 total digs so far this season.
  • Freshman Payton Tompkins paces the offense with 229 total kills (3.27 per set). Right with her is freshman Emily Pruitt contributing 224 kills (3.25 per set).
  • Red-shirt freshman setter Audrey Dowd has racked up 408 assists (7.42 per set).
  • The defense is controlled by junior Mackenzie Ransom with 237 digs (3.95 per set) and Tompkins with 183 digs (2.61 per set) along with sophomore Avery Ahlers who is top in blocks with 53.
REGIS UNIVERISTY GOING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 STATS
  • The Rangers placed third in the RMAC Volleyball Preseason Poll with two first place votes. They go into the weekend with an overall record of 10-8 overall and 6-2 in conference.
  • Regis comes off a split weekend, defeating Westminster (3-1) and dropping to #17 Colorado Mesa (1-3).
  • The Rangers have a total of 889 kills, 813 assists, 90 aces and 991 digs on the year.
  • The offense is guided by graduate student Halle Theis with 233 kills (3.48 per set), senior Amelia Davis with 178 kills (2.66 per set) and sophomore Bryn McNair with 159 kills (2.37 per set).
  • Freshman setter Reagan Hickey is the front runner for assists with 723 (10.79 per set).
  • Leading the defense is senior Bre Skala with 309 digs. She is accompanied by Hickey with 148 digs. David also plays a big role on defense, adding 90 total blocks to her stats.
