Colorado Springs, Colo.,   The men's and women's cross-country teams finish in the top four at the UCCS XC Open hosted by the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. The Mountaineer men's team placed third with 81 points while the Mountaineer women's team finished fourth with 104 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sophomore Peyton Weiss placed third individually with a time of 21:33.2. Weiss was the first of the Mountaineer women to cross the finish line.
• Junior Lacey Kunz, not far behind, finished in the top-20 in the 18th spot with a time of 22:51.7.
• Crossing the finish line, for the men, in the ninth spot was junior Robert Scott with a time of 25:43.2.
• Just on Scott's tail was junior Jacob Tyburski who placed 16th with an end time of 25:55.1.

 
UP NEXT
The Western Colorado cross country men's and women's team travels to Las Vegas, N.M. on Saturday, October 26 to compete in the RMAC Championship Meet hosted by New Mexico Highlands University. The women's 6-kilometer starts at 10:45 a.m. followed by the men's 8-kilometer at 11:35 a.m.
