CHADRON, Neb. Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action continues for Western Colorado as it hits the road for their next five matches. The road trip begins this weekend with contests at Chadron State (Friday, Sept. 22) and Colorado Christian (Saturday, Sept. 23).

The Mountaineers are coming off a challenging open to RMAC play where they went 0-2 against Colorado Mesa and Westminster but look to turn things around on the road.

Four Mountaineers are ranked within the RMAC stat leaders: Seyun Park is second in the conference in hitting percentage (.412); Maggie Olson is 14th in kills/set (2.91); Elizabeth Rupprecht ranks 8th in digs/set (3.35): and Nur Turkmenoglu is 9th in assists/set (8.30)

Park recorded a season-high 20 kills in Western Colorado's match against Westminster. Turkmengelo registered her second double-double of the season, Saturday night, with a season-high in both digs (18) and assists (48).

The Eagles are currently 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play after a road trip to Colorado School of Mines and Metropolitan State University of Denver. The Mountaineers are looking for revenge as the Eagles defeated Western Colorado last season.

Lexi Hurtado leads Chadron State's attack with 113 kills, but three other players have 50 or more kills: Aiyana Fujiyama (58), Bella Adams (75) and Mayson Fago (99).

Alondra Hernandez leads the Eagles in defensive efforts in digs with 167, while Adams has been Chadron State's leader in blocks with 27.

The Cougars started the season going 2-2 in each of their non-conference tournaments, then went 0-2 on the road to start RMAC play last weekend facing Mines and MSU Denver. They will face Fort Lewis on Friday before hosting the Mountaineers on Saturday.

Colorado Christian has won the last three meetings with Western Colorado, last time out the Cougars won 3-1.

Izzy Jones sets up the Cougars attack with 313 total assists and 9.78 assists per set.

The trio of Alli Douglass, Abby Breeding and Renee Phillips have combined for 241 kills while leading the attack for Colorado Christian.

Phillips also leads the defensive efforts at the net with 29 blocks on the season.

The Mountaineers will head to Grand Junction, Colo., next week to face both the Mavericks and Griffins in non-conference matches. Western Colorado will take on Colorado Mesa first at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, before another matchup with Westminster at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept.29.
