GUNNISON, Colo.  The $30 million renovation of the Mountaineer Bowl Event Complex will prove to be a windfall for several Western Colorado varsity sports—almost 30,000 square feet of new interior space, seating, turf playing surface, and resurfaced track on the 5-acre site. However, the most recent long, cold winter created issues that are pushing the opening of the Event Complex past the upcoming football season.

Therefore, Mountaineer football will again extend thanks to the women's soccer program as it shares Katy O. Rady Field with the gridders for their six home football games in Fall 2023.

Necessary procedures have been established to be able to host fans and visiting football teams at Rady Field including ticketing and bleacher-seating capacity (500), parking and vehicle access, fan walkways and ingress/egress points to the Field, and ADA parking and access.

Viewing the Game
Limited seating will be enforced at Rady, however there always remains the option to view the game with the free livestream on any computer or cell phone.

Of the available tickets to the public, numbers and details include:

• Tickets may be pre-purchased online via Western's Hometown Ticketing website, or (if still available) on game day at the main ticketing gate in the southeast corner of Rady Field
• Patrons will receive a wristband at the entrance gate
• General Admission – 250 tickets
• Student section – a separate, standing-only student section will be in the northeast corner on the home-team side of Rady Field. Students must enter through that northeast gate using their WCU IDs (i.e., free!). Maximum capacity of this section will be the first 50 students entering by 12:30 p.m.
• Visitor Tickets – 100 tickets (Promo code required; contact visiting team's athletic department for code)
• Online ticketing sales for visitors ends at 5 p.m. the Wednesday prior to the Saturday game
• Bleachers on the home side of the field are at field level, situated behind the home-team bench area, and are only eight rows high.
• The visiting fan's bleacher--a 3-row bleacher with minimal seating capacity--is tucked in the southwest corner of Rady Field, accessible by walking behind the south end zone
• ADA entrance and small-capacity seating areas are available in both the northeast (home side) and northwest (visitors side) corners of Rady Field. It is recommended that game day tickets be purchased in advance through the Hometown Ticketing website, but in-person tickets may still be purchased at the Main Ticketing entrance

Parking and access

• Parking for games remains as usual, in the Paul Wright Gym parking lot and the University Center parking lot. Overflow parking will be available in the Library/Kelly parking lot on the East edge of campus
• Home tailgates may be set up in the Paul Wright Gym lot, while visitor tailgates may be set up in the west end of the Paul Wright Gym lot (see Fan Information map-parking below)
• Access to Katy O. Rady field is via the fan walkway that begins at the corner of Escalante Drive and the Mountaineer Bowl access road. The walkway winds behind the Mountaineer Bowl, continuing to the Main Ticketing entrance in the southwest corner of Rady Field
• ADA access to Rady Field will be provided free parking at the north end of the site, accessible via Athletic Drive

FAQ
Vehicle access? No vehicles will be allowed access beyond the Escalante/Event Complex intersection. Only gameday personnel and ADA parking may access the north parking area via Athletic Drive

When will gates open? 11:30 a.m. on game day

Will there be concessions available at the game site? All spectators – those ticketed and inside the gates as well as fans viewing from outside the gates – will have access to a concessions truck and a local food truck that will be situated outside the fence in the North section of Rady Field

Will there still be a reserved VIP tent for MAA members and corporate sponsors? Yes! The MAA tent is located outside the northwest gate of Rady Field. Members and corporates will have access to this area regardless of whether they have a ticket into the game.
