Kade Juelfs powered the Mountaineers offense in the first half with 13 points, but the Orediggers dominated the possession time making 55% of their shots from the field. Majok Deng went 3-for-6 from the field with 9 in the first half. Colorado School of Mines took advantage of collecting 8 offensive rebounds in the first 20 minutes by collecting 10 second chance points.

Western Colorado went to the line just once in the first half compared to the 10 times mines went to the Charity Stripe. From the free throw line, the Orediggers went 5-for-10 while outscoring Western Colorado 44-26 going into halftime.

Coming out of halftime, Juelfs made the first basket in the paint making it a 16-point game. The Orediggers had a 25-point advantage with 12 minutes and 16 seconds left on the clock. Jamel Hollins made an impact on the second half of the game with 12 points including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Kade Juelfs led the scoring efforts for the Mountaineers with a game-high 18 points. The junior went 7-for-13 from the field and 3-for-7 from beyond the arc. Jamel Hollins collected 14 points with 5 rebounds, while Amar Rivers led the Mountaineers with 7 rebounds including 5 defensive boards.

For Colorado School of Mines, Cade Mankle was their leading scorer with 15 points shooting 60% from the field. Mankle also led the Orediggers with 8 with 6 defensive rebounds.
