GUNNISON, Colo. Spencer Wright called game on a three-point shot with .2 seconds left in overtime as the Mountaineers won 77-76 over Adams State in a thriller.

HOW IT HAPPENED

A turnover by Jude Tapia set up Wright for the final shot of the night. Wright was open after the Mountaineers in bounded the ball with one second left, he was able to step back and make the basket to give Western Colorado their first conference win of the season.

The Mountaineers were down three with 42 seconds left after Austin Fadal went to the free throw line and made one of two free throws. Jamel Hollins then drew a foul to go to the charity stripe and made his lone shot.

After closing regulation tied at 71, the Grizzlies and Mountaineers went back and forth at the free throw line until Adams State was able to grab a two-point lead. The Mountaineers allowed the Grizzlies to go just 11-for-29 from the field in the second half, while making 42 percent for their shots in the final 40 minutes of regulation.

Going into halftime, Adams State was up 37-36 but Western Colorado out shot the Grizzlies 42.8 percent to 37.9 percent from the field in the second half.

Kade Juelfs led the scoring efforts for the Mountaineers with 14 points including 4-for-7 from the field. Avery Rembao was one point behind Juelfs with 13 points, while Hollins and Jaelan McCloud finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Mountaineers had a 44.3-clip from the field throughout the night with a 42.1-percent shooting from three-point range. Adams State shot 45-percent from the field, while shooting 41-percent from beyond the arch.

Defensively, McCloud, Hollins and Amar Rivers all had five rebounds throughout the night with all of McCloud's coming on the defensive end of the game. Juelfs and Hollins both led the team with two steals.
