GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado will host Central Washington in the first round of the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs with kickoff slated for noon MT at the Mountaineer Bowl inside the Rady Family Sports Complex.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at the game early as there will only be one entrance available, that will open at 10:30 a.m. Parking will be available in the UC and Paul Wright Gym Parking Lots with ADA Parking available in the Dolores Lot.
Fans who cannot make it to the game may watch the game on the RMAC Network, but because this is a NCAA Championship event it will cost $9.95 to stream the game or $19.95 for all Division II Playoff games.
This is the first time that the two squads have met on the gridiron.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

The Mountaineers had 12 student athletes receive all-conference honors this week as well as Head Coach Jas Bains receive the RMAC Coach of the Year honor.

Deyvon Butler comes into the postseason with two first-team all-conference selections in the running back and punt return positions. In the backfield, Butler leads the conference with 1,001 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on the season. He has also averaged 91-yards per game, which also ranks first in the league.

Kendall Lightfoot and Ricky Freymond lead the Mountaineers' defense which has held opponents to 16.36 points per game this season. Individually, Lightfoot leads Western Colorado in tackles with 78 this season including 48 solo tackles this season.

Freymond leads the team in tackles for loss with 13 for a total of 90-yards and sacks with 9.5 sacks for 84-yards. He also has four forced fumbles this season.
WILDCATS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

Prior to their 42-14 loss to Texas Permian Basin the Wildcats were ranked in the nation's top-25. The Wildcats' defense has held their opponents to 23.5 points per game while their offense has been able to score 25.10 points per game.

Tyler Flannigan has been Chris Fisk's main guy in the backfield collecting 1,013 rushing yards over 10 games. He is averaging 101.3 yards per game and has 12 touchdowns this season.

JJ Lemming, Kennedy McGill and Zach Matlock have all split time at the quarterback position this season with Lemming getting the majority of snaps. The redshirt junior has a 46.26 completion rate (68-for-147) with 881 passing yards.

If the Mountaineers win Saturday's matchup with the Wildcats, they will host the winner of Texas Permian Basin and Bemidji State on Saturday, Nov. 25., with a 12 p.m. kickoff.
