DENTON, Texas Rachel Cockman and Ivey Schmidt both recorded double-doubles as the Mountaineers looked to pull off the upset over No. 25 Angelo State, but the Rams came out on top 64-55.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Western Colorado came out of the half only down by one point after winning the second quarter 15-12. The Mountaineers tallied a 35.5-percent shooting from the field in the quarter compared to the Rams 29.4-clip from the field.

The Mountaineers entered the break down 27-28 after scoring 12 points in the first and 15 in the second.

Coming out of the half only down by one point, the Mountaineers got off to a slow third quarter only recording nine points including seven points from Rachel Cockman. The Rams scored 13 points in the quarter with five points off turnovers from the Mountaineers.

The fourth quarter saw the Mountaineers trying to battle back down by a handful of points. Natalie Jojola tallied nine of her teams 19 points in the last ten minutes of the game.
COURT NOTES

Rachel Cockman recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Most of the sophomore's points came from the charity stripe as she was 10-for-14 and 4-for16 from the field. She also led her team in rebounds with 15 including eight offensive boards and seven defensive rebounds.

Ivey Schmidt had 11 rebounds and 11 points recording the Mountaineers' second double-double of the game.

The Mountaineers tallied a 27.1-percent shooting from the field in their second game of the season compared to Angelo State's 32.4-clip from the field.
