GUNNISON, Colo.  Western Colorado will look to snap their losing streak this weekend when they take on Regis University (Feb. 11) and Colorado School of Mines (Feb. 12). Both games will be played at 7 p.m.
 
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Things have been rough for Western lately as they have lost their last four-games. In their last two home games, the Mountaineers lost to UCCS 78-62 (Feb. 4) and New Mexico Highlands 75-73 (Feb. 5). That rough stretch has Western sitting in 15th place (4-12) in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Standings.
  • Matthew Ragsdale and Avery Rembao are the leading scorers for the Mountaineers averaging 23.2 (No. 2 RMAC) and 10.2-points per game. Ragsdale is better from the field out of the duo making 46.5 percent (No. 17 RMAC) and three-point line making 36.6 percent (No. 10 RMAC).
  • Jaelan McCloud is the best three-point shooter on the team sinking 40.3-percent (No. 6 RMAC).
  • Defensively, Elijah Davidson is solid on that end blocking 1.1 shots (No. 5 RMAC) per game. 
  • Western has the fifth ranked offense scoring 77.1-points and 15th ranked defense giving up 82.7-points.
RANGERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Regis will look to get back on track after losing their last three games. Recently, they lost Metro State 87-81 (Feb. 5) and Black Hills State 85-75 (Feb. 7). But, still sit in second place (11-4) in the RMAC standings.
  • Offensively the Rangers are led by Brian Dawson, Will Cranston-Lown and Troy Brady who are the top scorers for them. Dawson scores 21.1-points (No. 3 RMAC), while Cranston-Lown scores 15.3-points (No. 11 RMAC) and Brady scores 11-points. Brady is better from the field making 52.3 percent of his shots and three-point range sinking 42.6 percent.
  • Cranston-Lown is the leader on the defensive end stealing the ball 1.7 per game (No. 7 RMAC) and has help from Brady who steals the ball 1.5 (No. 9 RMAC) per game.
  • Regis has the second ranked offense scoring 80.3-points and ninth ranked defense giving up 76.1-points.
OREDIGGERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Colorado School of Mines has been hot lately winning their last eight games, which has them sitting in fourth place (11-5) in the RMAC standings. In their last games, the Orediggers defeated Metro State 91-78 (Feb. 4) and then went on to defeat Colorado Christian 85-50 (Feb. 5).
  • Brendan Sullivan and Ben Boone are a dominant duo to look out for scoring 15.2 (No. 13 RMAC) and 13.4-points per game. Sullivan is the better shooter from the field making 53.6 percent (No. 6 RMAC), while Boone is the better three-point shooter making 44.4 percent (No. 1 RMAC).
  • Additionally, Sullivan is the leading rebounder grabbing 5.1 boards (No. 23 RMAC) and is best shot blocker on the team blocking 0.9 shots (No. 7 RMAC). Adam Krasovec is the next best shot blocker blocking 0.8 (No. 8 RMAC) shots.
  • Colorado School of Mines has the eighth ranked offense scoring 75.3-points, and the best defense only giving up 64.8-points.

The Mountaineers will play their final road games of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 18 taking on Colorado State University-Pueblo at 7:30 p.m. and then will face Adams State University on Saturday, Feb.19. at 7:30 p.m.
