GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team fell to No. 5 Colorado Mesa 93-77 on Friday night at Brownson Arena.

The Mountaineers (6-11 overall, 6-10 RMAC) , who handed the Mavericks (17-1, 17-1) their only loss earlier this season in Gunnison, led 10-4 in the opening three minutes before CMU went on an 11-0 run to take a five-point advantage with 15:12 remaining. Western trailed 34-27 after a
Matthew Ragsdale basket with 4:25 remaining before a 15-4 run by the Mavs to end the half made it 49-31 at the break.
The Mountaineers wouldn't get closer than 11 points in the second half.
Ragsdale paced Western Colorado with 24 points while
Avery Rembao had 16 points,
Grant Wilkinson had 12 points to go along with a team-high six rebounds and five assists while
Jonathan McCloud had 10 points.
Georgie Dancer led CMU with 17 points while Trevor Baskin had a double-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.
The Mountaineers wrap up their season 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Westminster.
