GUNNISON, Colo. Coming off an impressive 78-64 win on Saturday (Dec. 11) over Metro State, Western Colorado will look to build on that momentum when they take on Colorado School of Mines (Dec. 17) and Regis (Dec. 18).

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Western picked up their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win on Saturday (Dec. 11), defeating Metro State 78-64. 
  • Matthew Ragsdale, Jaelan McCloud, Avery Rembao and Grant Wilkinson led the way in victory scoring 19, 18, 16 and 11 points in the game.
  • McCloud and Jordan Veening were impressive on the defensive end, each recording a block and two steals.
  • In the four RMAC conference games played so far, Ragsdale has been the leading scorer for the Mountaineers averaging 27.5 points per game, while McCloud is the next highest scorer with 10.7.
  • Western is tied for seventh in the RMAC standings with Chadron State and South Dakota Mines, all three teams currently 1-3 in conference play.
OREDIGGERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Colorado School of Mines has got the job done in their last two games (South Dakota Mines, UCCS), resulting in them having a two-game win streak as they prepare for the Mountaineers.
  • Ben Boone is the leading scorer for the Orediggers since RMAC conference play has started, averaging 16 points a game. Brendan Sullivan is the next highest scorer with 15.6 followed by Adam Krasovec with 9.3.
  • Colorado School of Mines averages 67.4 points per game, shooting 45.4% from the field, 33.1% from three and 70.3% from the free throw line.
  • The Orediggers are tied for fourth in the RMAC standings with UCCS, each currently 2-1 in conference play. Their lone loss in conference play came on Tuesday, Nov. 30 when they lost to Regis 66-62.
RANGERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Regis has been on fire since their first loss of the season on Friday, Nov. 12 (83-56 loss to Lubbock Christian) and is currently on an eight-game winning streak.
  • Since RMAC play has kicked off, Brian Dawson is the leading scorer for the Rangers averaging 21.3 points per game, followed by Will Cranston-Lowe with 17.6 and Troy Brady with 10.6. Kevin Ebiriewe has also been solid scoring 10 points a game.
  • Regis averages 82.9 points per game, shooting 47.2% from the field, 36.7% from three and 75.5% from the free throw line.
  • Regis is currently second in the RMAC standings, with a 3-0 conference play record.
