GUNNISON, Colo.  Western Colorado will kick off a three-game home stretch on Saturday, Dec. 11 when they take on Metropolitan State University of Denver at 7 p.m.

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Western has a rough start to RMAC conference play (0-3). However, they have been hard at work and are hungry to get back on track on Saturday.
  • The Mountaineers had an off day in their last game on Tuesday (Dec. 7) losing to Fort Lewis College 87-68. Matthew Ragsdale led the way for Western scoring 15 points and had help from Cole Sienknecht who pitched in with 11 points of his own.
  • So far this season the Mountaineers average 73.6 points per game, shooting 43.2% from the field, 32.9% from the three-point line.
  • Ragsdale is the leading scorer for Western scoring 22 points per game on 45.3% shooting from the field. Elijah Davidson and Jordan Veening are the top rebounders, grabbing 5.6 and 5.5 per game.
ROADRUNNERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Metro State has a strong start to the season currently 7-1 overall, with their first loss coming on Saturday, Dec. 4 against Westminster University (81-66).
  • In their last game on Sunday (Dec. 5), the Roadrunners defeated Colorado Mesa University 73-50. Tyrei Randall had a season high 31 points making 11-of-16 (68.7%) from the field, 7-of-10 (70%) from the three-point line.
  • Miles Gibson and Laolu Oke also pitched in with 11 and 10 points in the game.
  • Ra'Shawn Langston missed the last game against Colorado Mesa, but is the team's leading scorer averaging 16.7 points per game. Oke is next leading scorer with 15.6, followed by Gibson with 14.1 and Randall with 12.4.
ON THE COURT NEXT
The Mountaineers will be home for their next game on Friday, Dec. 17, taking on Colorado School of Mines at 7:30 p.m. Western will be home again after the conclusion of that game, hosting Regis University on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
