GUNNISON, Colo. --- Western Colorado swimming and diving will travel to the CSU Pueblo Tri Meet in Pueblo, Colorado this Saturday to compete in their season opener against CSU Pueblo and Adams State. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. in the Sam Jones Aquatic Center.

Western Colorado will send their full roster to compete in Saturday's tri meet. The Mountaineers added 10 new student-athletes to the 2021-22 roster with 16 returners from the 2020-21 roster. The team added freshmen

This will be
Vickie Fellows first meet as the head coach, as she accepted the position in late August. "I am excited for our first meet this Saturday in Pueblo," Fellows said. "We have a great group of talented ladies and they have been training very well over the last few weeks. It should be great to watch as they are ready to get up and race this weekend. I am also thrilled to cheer on our divers as they compete; they have also been working hard in the pool."

The Mountaineers came in ranked No. 4 in the RMAC 2020-21 Swimming and Diving Coaches' Poll. Leading the RMAC in the preseason poll is Colorado Mesa with 36 points and six of seven first place votes. Colorado School of Mines came in second with 31 points and one first place vote, as Oklahoma Christian took third (24 points), Western Colorado in fourth (23 points), CSU Pueblo with fifth (16 points), Nebraska Kearney in sixth (9 points) and Adams State took seventh (8 points).
