GUNNISON, Colo. --- Western Colorado comes out victorious for the second time this season against South Dakota Mines. The Mountaineers won 3-2 (W, 21-25, 30-28, 27-25, 14-25, 16-14) after sending the match into three overtimes.

The Mountaineers surprising only won a set if it was tied and went into win-by-two. Western Colorado held tough in those pressure situations and because of that were able to come out victorious. Â Â

Mountaineer
Emily Mangone played a vital role in the win over the Hardrockers as she recorded 20 kills on the night. Mangone also recorded 20 digs and two blocks.

Also helping lead the team to success was
Kat Finnerty who recorded 16 kills and a staggering nine blocks in the five set match.

Jordyn Todd kept the ball alive for the Mountaineers as she led the team with 25 digs. Todd also had one ace on the night and teammate
Julia Antu also served one ace.

Hailee Martinez and
Alex Galicia shared the setting responsibilities as Martinez recorded 27 assists and Galicia earned 26 assists.
Elizabeth Rupprecht recorded five assists along with getting 19 digs.

Six different Mountaineers recorded a block on the night, Finnerty led with nine as
Jaeda Davis-Golliher recorded four, both
Savanna Meyer and
Elyse Fitzpatrick each had three, Mangone had two and Todd recorded one. The Mountaineers out blocked the Hardrockers 14 to 12. Â

The Mountaineers will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 29 as they travel to Colorado Mesa, then on Saturday, Oct. 30 as they take on Westminster on the road.
