GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team tries to keep its RMAC Tournament hopes alive as they Mountaineers hit the road this week to take on Adams State and Fort Lewis College.
The Mountaineers at 8-11 are two games back of the eighth-and-final postseason spot for the RMAC Tournament with three games to go in New Mexico Highlands. Regis and CSU-Pueblo are a game back at 9-10. Â

Western Colorado split its games at home against Adams State and Fort Lewis, beating the Grizzlies 88-85 on Jan. 18 while falling to Fort Lewis 88-74 on Jan. 17.
THE MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK |Â 2019-20 SEASON STATS
Western Colorado swept a pair of games at home last weekend, defeating Regis 87-71 on Friday behind a career-high 31 points from
Matthew Ragsdale (he hit seven 3-pointers - one 3-pointer short of the WCU record) and defeated Colorado Christian 90-78 on Saturday as the Mountaineers hit a season-high 18 3-pointers in the game (tied for the fourth most in program history).
Cole Sienknecht continues to lead the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Ragsdale is second on the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game and is averaging 2.7 3-pointers per game - third in the RMAC.
Jackson Ehrlin is averaging 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while
Monroe Porter is averaging 9.2 points while leading the team in rebounds (7.1 - third in the RMAC), assists (2.8), steals (0.9) and blocks (0.5).
As a team, the Mountaineers are second in the RMAC in 3-pointers per game at 9.4 while theyare fifth in 3-point percentage at 39.0 percent.
ADAMS STATE HEADING INTO THIS WEEKÂ |Â SEASON STATS
The Grizzlies have dropped four in a row and six of their last seven (though the one win as against a ranked Dixie State team at home on Feb. 1). This includes dropping both games on the road last week - falling at Dixie State 102-81 on Friday and at Westminster 90-62 on Saturday.
Kaelin Crane leads four Adams State players averaging double figures at 14.6 points per game while also averaging 4.5 rebounds per contests. Juwan Green is averaging 13.8 points, a team-best 3.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals, Rylan O'brien is averagign 12.5 points and 2.9 rebounds while Rickey Norris is averaging 11.8 points and a team-best 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
The Grizzlies are ninth in the RMAC in scoring at 76.3 points per game while allowing 84.3 points per game - 14th in the RMAC. ASU is last in the RMAC in rebounding margin by a wide margin - being outrebounded by 11.1 rebounds per game (next to last is Colorado Christian at minus-3.4 rebounds per game).

The Skyhawks are on a six-game losing skid, including dropping both games on the road last week at Westminster 75-62 on Friday and at No. 15 Dixie State 73-69 on Saturday in a game the Skyhawks led by seven points at the half.
Riley Farris leads the Skyhawks and is third in the RMAC in scoring at 23.9 points per game to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. The 6-foot-9 junior is shooting 45.2 percent from 3-point range and is second on the team in 3-pointers with 42. Akuel Kot is second in the team in scoring at 12.5 points per game while Will Wittman is third at 10.0 points per game.
The Skyhawks are second in the conference in scoring at 83.5 points per game while they are 13th in points allowed at 82.2 points per game.
