GUNNISON, Colo. --- Western Colorado swimming and diving won their final dual of the 2019-20 season as they finished 155-50 over the Grizzlies of Adams State University. The Mountaineers celebrated their two graduating seniors,
Alex Johnson and
Jocelyn Jo who swam in their last colligate swim meet in Paul Wright Natatorium. Â Â

Senior
Alex Johnson swam in the 200-yard medley relay, 200 IM, and the 100 breast. Johnson and her relay team clinched a first place finish in a time of 1:57.23, she then went onto finish third in a time of 2:23.64 in the 200 IM and touched the wall in 1:12.15 in the 100 breast to place third.

Also on the winning 200-medley relay team were Mountaineers
Rylee Denney,
Kali Stier, and
Alexandria McCoy.

Senior
Jocelyn Jo swam in the 200-medley relay, 1,000 free, and 100 breast. Jo and her relay team finished in a time of 1:59.61 for a third place finish, Jocelyn then went on to place fourth in the 1,000 free (12:31.38) and won the 100 breast in 1:10.41.

The Mountaineers won 11 of the 11 events during Saturday's meet against the Grizzlies, earning their third victory over Adams State this season.

With another dominant performance in the pool,
Savannah Tice went on to win two individual events along with being a part of a winning relay team. She won her first event of the day in the 50 free in a time of 25.58, then two events later came back to win the 100 butterfly in 1:02.01.

Western Colorado's 400 freestyle relay was the most exciting event of the meet as the Mountaineers were able to touch the wall a hundredth of a second before the Grizzlies. Tice along with
Lauren Sanders,
Ashley Cheramie, and
Shea Yuran swam for victory in a time of 3:53.25.

Cheramie, Sanders and Yuran all also won individual events during the meet. Cheramie won the 100 free (59.86) as Sanders won the 500 free (5:36.33) and Yuran in the 200 IM (2:22.11).

Sydney Skiles recorded a time of 11:42.66 to win the 1,000 free, winning by over eight seconds.

In the 200 free,
Arden Tesch out swam Adams State's Davin Ruggles to clinch a first place victory in a time of 2:03.00. Tesch also earned gold in the 100 backstroke, as she was the first swimmer to touch the wall in a time of 1:03.11.

The next time the Mountaineers will be in the pool will be at the RMAC Championships in Grand Junction on Feb. 12-15.
