ST. GEORGE, Utah --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team fell on the road to No. 23 Dixie State 87-57 on Saturday at Burns Arena.

The Mountaineers (7-12 overall, 4-9 RMAC) trailed 30-27 with less than four minutes left in the first half to the Trailblazers (16-3, 11-2) before DSU went on a 10-2 run to end the half and take a 40-29 lead at the break.

The Trailblazers continued to increase the lead in the second half thanks to shooting 58.3 percent in the game, despite going 3-for-17 from 3-point range (they were 32-for-43 inside the arc).

WCU finished the game shooting 33.3 percent from the field, including going 11-for-35 from 3-point range.

Freshman
Matthew Ragsdale led three Mountaineers in double figures with 14 points – including going 4-for-9 from 3-point range.
Cole Sienknecht had 12 points and four rebounds for WCU while
Monroe Porter had 11 points, three assists and was 3-for-6 from 3-point range.

The Mountaineers are on the road next week again as they travel to take on Colorado Christian on Friday and Regis on Saturday.
