SALT LAKE CITY --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team lost to Westminster 78-62 on Friday night at Behnken Field House.
 
The Mountaineers (7-11 Overall, 4-8 RMAC) fell behind 9-0 in the opening minutes of the contest and trailed 30-8 at one point before rallying down to as low as 12 points on a 
Will Willis bucket with a minute left in the half. The Griffins (11-7, 6-6) eventually took a 43-28 lead into the half.
 
WCU got within 14 in the second half, but eventually fell by 16.
 
Matthew Ragsdale led the Mountaineers with 12 points, 
Monroe Porter had 10 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists while 
Avery Rembao had a team-high seven rebounds to go along with eight points.
 
WCU returns to action 7:30 p.m. Saturday as they travel to take on Dixie State.
