ALAMOSA, Colo. --- Western Colorado swimming and diving had a dominate performance in their dual over Adams State University on Saturday. The Mountaineers competed on the road against the Grizzlies and were able to come home having won 10 of the 14 events at the meet.

Western Colorado won 175.5 to 78.5 over Adams State.

The Mountaineers started by winning the first event as
Kali Stier,
Jocelyn Jo,
Rylee Denney, and
Savannah Tice worked together to swim a first place time of 1:55.82 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Â
Following the relay,
Addison O'Donnell took a commanding lead in the 1,000-yard freestyle, allowing her to win the event by nearly half a minute. O'Donnell finished her race in a time of 12:04.54.

In the fourth event, Tice continued her hunt for victory as she won the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 27.63 seconds. Western went one through five in the event.

Following Tice's victory, Jocelyn took to the pool again as she swam her way to a first place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.78 seconds).

Starting with
Sydney Skiles in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.70), Western won four events in a row with
Arden Tesch in the 200-yard backstroke (2:15.86), O'Donnell in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:42.78), and Tice in the 500-yard freestyle (5:45.76).

Three events later, Tice went on to win the 100-yard IM as she was first to touch the wall in a time of 1:05.55.

The Mountaineers looked to close out the dual with a victory in the last event, the 200-yard freestyle relay. In a tough battle against the Grizzlies, Western Colorado was able to hold them off and clinch the first place finish in a time of 1:46.53. On the relay team for the Mountaineers was

Addison O'Donnell.
