WCU honors seniors prior to match, fall to CSM

GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Mountaineer honor four seniors prior to the match as it will be their last time playing in Paul Wright Gym. Western Colorado volleyball falls to RMAC No. 4 ranked Colorado School of Mines  3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-17) in on Saturday night.
 
In the second set the Mountaineers stayed close as Jordyn Todd recorded an ace followed by a kill from Kirsten Companik to tie it up at 20-20. The Orediggers then went on a 5-0 run to close out the set.
 
The Orediggers dominated the first set by taking an early lead and clinched the first set 25-10 over the Mountaineers. They also took an early lead in the third set as they went up 17-6. Western Colorado fought to get back into it, but only could get within six before Colorado School of Mines closed the match with a 25-17 victory.
 
Hanna Hendrickson lead the team in Saturdays match as she recorded 15 assists, five digs, two blocks, and one ace on the night. Western Colorado strategically attacked the Orediggers as three Mountaineers each recorded five kills, earning those kills were Jordyn Todd, Kirsten Companik, and Emilee Scates.
 
The Mountaineers will play in their last match of the season next Friday as they will be on the road to take on Colorado Mesa University at 7 p.m.
