GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team fresh off winning a pair of games last weekend heads to Grand Junction to take part in the CMU Holiday Inn - Airport Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday at Brownson Arena. The Mountaineers play 2 p.m. each day - taking on Montana Western on Friday and Missouri Western State on Saturday.

THE MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | 2019-20 SEASON STATS
Western Colorado picked up its first two wins last weekend as it hosted the Comfort Inn Classic, defeating Midland 61-54 on Friday and Pacific Union 94-69 on Saturday. Against Midland, the Mountaineers pulled away down the stretch thanks to going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line over the final minute. Against Pacific Union, the Mountaineers exploded in the first half to take a 51-25 lead and cruised to the win.

On the season, freshman Josh Tomasi leads the team at 15 points per game while averaging 6.0 rebounds. Cole Sienknecht is averaging 12.5 points per game and has a team-best six 3-pointers. Monroe Porter has been doing a little bit of everything for WCU this season as he is averaging 9.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 steals. Jackson Ehrlin leads the team in rebounding (7.0) while averaging 7.7 points per contest.

The Mountaineers early in the season have done a good job of getting to the free-throw line as they are outshooting their opponents 100-61 and have shot a better percentage (79 percent to 67.2 percent).

MONTANA WESTERN HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Bulldogs, an NAIA program, are coming off splitting a pair of games at the Domino's Classic in Caldwell Idaho, falling to NAIA No. 3 College of Idaho 87-79 on Friday before edging Corban 72-70 on Saturday behind 23 points from James Jones.

Jones leads the team at 18.3 points and 4.6 assists per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals. Cedric Boone is second on the team in scoring at 15.1 points per contest while averaging 2.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 assists. Brian Howell is third on the team in scoring at 11.1 points per game (in just 18 minutes per contest) to go along with 5.3 boards per game.

The Bulldogs are averaging 11.6 3-pointer per contest (shooting 38.8 percent) and own a plus-3.0 turnover margin.

MISSOUR WESTERN STATE HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Griffons haven't played since Nov. 20 where they blew out Nebraska Christian College 101-34 - three days after beating Missour S&T 66-64 in overtime. Those are the only two games MWSU have played in the previous three weeks.

On the season, Tyrell Carroll (a 5-11 guard) leads the team in scoring (18.7), assists (5.3) and steals (2.7) to go along with 2.8 rebounds per game. Will Eames (a 6-7 forward) is second on the team in scoring (13.0) while leading the team at 6.8 rebounds per game.
