PUEBLO, Colo. --- Western Colorado swimming and diving bounce back after Thursday's loss against Colorado Mesa as they bring home the victory Saturday after dueling the Thunderwolves of CSU-Pueblo.

On the road, the Mountaineers outscored the Thunderwolves 142.5 to 98.5 to bring home the victory.

Setting a school record and wining the event in the process, Western Colorado's
Sarah Mortenson earned 213.70 points in the one meter six dive. Mortenson then went on to win the one meter eleven dive scoring 194.47 for a combined score of 408.17, just ten point off of breaking that school record.

Winning every event she swam in was Western Colorado's
Arden Tesch who won two individual titles and helped her team to a first place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Tesch won the 500 yard freestyle in a blazing time of 5:23.03, along with winning the 200 yard IM in 2:15.39.

Savannah Tice had another dominate performance in the pool as she swam in three events, winning her two individual events and helping her relay team take second. Tice won the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.21, along with winning the 100 yard backstroke touching the wall in 59.77.

Also winning individual events were Mountaineers
Alex Johnson and
Lauren Sanders. Johnson claimed the victory in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:09.35. Sanders took the title in the 1,000 yard freestyle, swimming it in 10:59.00.

The 200 yard medley relay team won by over a four second margin as they finished in a time of 1:54.62, on the team Western Colorado's
Arden Tesch,
Alex Johnson,
Rylee Denney, and
Kali Stier.

The Mountaineers will be back in the pool next Friday and Saturday as the head to Kearney, Nebraska to compete at the UNK Mini-Invite. Â
