GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. --- With the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in the books, the Mountaineer men's and women's team each walk away with a third place finish.

The men's team scored 76 points to place third overall, as Colorado School of Mines claimed the RMAC title with a score of 28 points. Finishing just ahead of the Mountaineers with 73 total points was Adams State University.

On the women's side, Adams came away with a dominate victory as they placed five athlete's in the top eight, earing 21 points as a team. The Western Colorado women finished with their top five in the top 22 , earning them 88 total points. Finishing just ahead of the Mountaineers was Colorado Mines with 60 points, placing their top five in the top 19 finishers.

Leading the men's team and earing the highest finishing spot of any Mountaineer in the competition was junior
Taylor Stack as he came across the line in second place, finishing in twenty-three minutes and thirty seconds on the eight kilometer course.

Sophomore
Charlie Sweeney finished just behind Stack in third place, crossing the line in 23:44.2. Stack and Sweeney ran with the lead pack from the gun and set the pace for the field.

Leading the women's team to a third place finish was junior
Alexia Thiros as she was the first Mountaineer to cross the line. Thiros finished 11th overall, finishing the six kilometer course in 20:59.9.

Coming across the line as the second Western Colorado runner was freshman
Alexa Rodriguez, finishing 14th overall in a time of 21:01.8.

The women held a tight pack as four of them finished within four seconds of each other to take 20th through 23rd place. Led by
