69th Annual W Mountain Race in the books

GUNNISON, Colo. – On a beautiful Saturday morning in Gunnison Country, the 69th Annual W Mountain Run continued a tradition as the oldest running race in Colorado as it weaved up the backside of Tenderfoot Mountain.

The 2019 edition recorded 122 competitors as they finished the 2.8 mile run, gaining 900+ feet of elevation.

After an impressive, sixteen minutes and twelve seconds, Josh Eberly was the first competitor across the finish line on the peak. Eberly, the current record holder of the race came up 22 seconds short of breaking his record from 2012, yet he still walks away with the 2019 title.

Winning the women's race, Western Colorado's Anna Keller turned in a 21:52 performance to finish 23th overall.

In a growing tradition, athletes from Western's men's basketball tested their mettle on the rocky slopes of W Mountain.

The results for the 2019 W Mountain Race have been posted on the link above. For those who couldn't make it out to the 68th Annual W Mountain Race, donations are still being accepted online. All donations support Western cross country/track & field.
