GUNNISON, Colo. --- Mountaineer volleyball suffers a tough loss to the Hardrockers of South Dakota Mines as they fall 3-2 (18-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-11) in Paul Wright Gym on Friday night.

Western Colorado (8-10 overall, 4-6 RMAC) started the night in a dominant fashion as they came out and won the first set 25-18, then clinched the second 25-23. Nothing looked like it was going to stop the Mountaineers from taking the victory on the night. The HardrockersĀ (9-10 overall, 5-5 RMAC) had a different thought in mind as then went on to win three straight sets to bring home the victory.

Hanna Hendrickson put up 46 assists in the five set match, just two off of her season most.
Jordyn Todd,
Emilee Scates, and
Kirsten Companik combined for 38 kills on the night as Todd led the team with 17 kills.

Defensively,
Myles Hilbert recorded 28 digs on the night as Todd and Hendrickson combined for 33 digs. Hendrickson also recorded two blocks, as
Maddy Johnson finished with three and
Brianna Hardy leading the team with five on the night.

The Mountaineers are set to play tomorrow night in Paul Wright Gym as they take on the Yellow Jackets of Black Hills State at 6 p.m.
