DENVER, Colo. --- Western Colorado volleyball comes up short against the Rangers of Regis University, losing 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-20). The Mountaineers (7-9 overall, 3-5 RMAC) now drop to 3-5 in the conference after Friday night's loss.
Starting the match for the Mountaineers was

Hanna Hendrickson,
Jordyn Todd, and
Maddy Johnson, with
Myles Hilbert as the libero.
The Rangers (13-3 overall, 7-1 RMAC) set the pace for the match in the first set as they came out and earned a ten point victory as they outscored Western Colorado 25-15. The Mountaineers distributed their eight kills between six Mountaineers in the first set.
Western Colorado started to find their rhythm late in the second set as they went on a 9-2 run to take their first lead of the set. With three straight points coming from Hendrickson's serving and then two straight kills from Kristen Companik. The Mountaineers then tied it up at 23-23 before the Rangers took the next two points to win the set.
The Rangers started the third set with a 4-0 run, then maintained throughout the set to come away with a 25-20 victory to win the match.
Leading WCU in kills was senior
Kirsten Companik who was able to record eight kills in the three sets played. Juniors
Hanna Hendrickson again led the team as she recorded 22 assists, along with recording three aces on the night.
Myles Hilbert also recorded 15 digs during the match.
The Mountaineers will be back on the court Saturday night at 5 p.m. as they face off against the Cougars of Colorado Christian University.
