GUNNISON, Colo. – It took overtime Saturday night before a winner was decided in Western Colorado University men's basketball game against Dixie State University. The Mountaineers were unable to send the Trailblazers home with a loss, falling to DSU 91-96.

After Western (3-16, 0-13 RMAC) led for much of the game, DSU (9-8, 7-6 RMAC) was able to force overtime, scoring nine points in the final 53 seconds.

Both teams scored 20 or more points in the five minute overtime. In both 20 minute halves, neither scored more than 38 points.

Brady Subart and
Cole Sienknecht again paced the Mountaineers. Subart led the team with 27 points, while Sienknecht added 23. The two combined to make 12 three-point field goals.
The Mountaineers made 21 three-pointers as a team, which is second most in program history. The team's 49 three-point attempts is the school record.

Subart and Sienknecht have both scored 20 or more points in three straight games.

Joran Ticeson and
James Willis also reached the double figure scoring mark. Both scored 11 points.

The two teams were very close for much of the game as the lead changed hands 26 times on Saturday in Paul Wright Gym.

Western continues the home stand next Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Colorado Christian University.
