GUNNISON, Colo. – In the first of three games on the weekend, Western Colorado University hosted Colorado School of Mines. The Orediggers buried the Mountaineers in the first half as Western fell 60-109.
With the buckets not falling for Western (3-5, 0-2 RMAC), a hot-shooting Mines (5-3, 2-0 RMAC) squad jumped out to a big lead. On the night, the Orediggers shot 61.2% from the floor.
Following the break, Western shot 55.56% from floor to score 41 points, but could not overcome the Oredigger edge.
Brady Subart led Western with 19 points while
Quincy Harding turned in 15 as the two combined for more than half of Western's points.
At the break Mines led Western 47-19.
With two games remaining on the weekend, Western returns to the court tomorrow night against UCCS. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
