COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado University Women's Basketball extended its winning streak to three games on Saturday. The Mountaineers defeated St. Edward's University in dominating fashion, 65-50.
 
Western (6-2, 3-2 RMAC) never trailed in Saturday's non-conference matchup against SEU (8-5, 0-0 Heartland). The Mountaineers led by as many as 16 points while holding the Hilltoppers to just 32.7 percent (17-of-52) shooting from the field.
 
The Mountaineers claimed a 35-21 lead at halftime, contesting every SEU shot. The Hilltoppers managed to shoot just 20 percent (5-of-25) through the first two quarters.
 
Point guard 
Tammarrah Gothard recorded a game-high five steals and five assists, while also scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds.
 
Teammate 
Chandler Willis recorded a double-double coming off the bench. Willis scored 12 points while bringing down 10 rebounds against the Hilltoppers.
 
Samantha Coleman scored five of Western's first seven points to put the Mountaineers ahead 7-0 in the starting two-minutes. Coleman would lead all players in scoring with 13 points.
 
Western will look to extend its winning streak to four games on Sunday when the Mountaineers face the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 1 p.m. in the Gallogly Events Center on the campus of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
