GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University Women's Swimming & Diving hosted Colorado School of Mines on Saturday in the Paul Wright Gym Pool. The Mountaineers won six events, but were unable to come away with the team victory, falling to the Orediggers 158-104.

Western opened and ended the meet with relay victories. In the first event, the combination of
Savannah Tice,
Alex Johnson,
Jordyn Richey and
Randi Yarnell won the 200-yard medley relay for Western in a time of 1:52.99.

In the final event, Yarnell, Tice,
Caroline Katzmann and
Kali Stier won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:42.37.

Both Tice and Yarnell also won two individual events each.

Tice finished first in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke. In the 100 backstroke, Tice touched the wall in 59.98 and in the 200 backstroke she finished in 2:12.76.

Yarnell won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. In the 200 free, Yarnell finished in 1:57.10. In the 100 butterfly, Yarnell touched the wall first in 58.78.

The Mountaineers will return to the pool next Saturday for a dual against Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado.
