LARAMIE, Wyo. – Western Colorado University Women's Basketball opened the 2018-19 season with an exhibition game against the University of Wyoming on Friday night in Laramie, Wyoming. The Mountaineers were unable to pull off the upset against the Division I opponent, falling 64-28.

Western showed glimpses of brilliance against Wyoming, but were outmatched on the Cowgirls' home court.

The Mountaineers had their best quarter in the fourth. Western scored 13 points, led by
Jadyn Kanzler's six points in the final 10 minutes.

Kanzler led the Mountaineers in scoring with nine points.

Chandler Willis also had a good game for Western, scoring eight points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds.

Western will face the Air Force Academy on Tuesday in Colorado Springs, Colorado for another exhibition match before starting the regular season on Nov. 23 against Western New Mexico University in Grand Junction, Colorado.
