FB | Western travels to Fort Lewis

GUNNISON, Colo. - It will be a showdown at high noon on Saturday as Western Colorado University faces Fort Lewis College on the road. The Mountaineers and Skyhawks will each be looking for a win in this crucial Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup.

Western (0-7, 0-6 RMAC) is coming off a huge effort against Dixie State University. The Mountaineers held the Trailblazers to -1 rushing yards for the game, but a late fourth quarter drive was enough for Dixie as they won the game 17-10.

With top-rusher Isaac Fuqua out the past few weeks, the Mountaineers have utilized quarterback Cameron Shumway as their primary ground threat. Shumway is averaging almost three yards per carry.

Defensively, the Mountaineers are led by Lane Farris' 58 tackles and Mark Zavala's six sacks. Farris ranks eighth in the conference standings for tackles, while Zavala is tied for third in sacks.

FLC (1-6, 1-6 RMAC) is coming off a 44-14 loss to Colorado School of Mines. The lone win for the Skyhawks this season was against Black Hills State University. FLC won the game at home against the Yellow Jackets 34-14.

Those unable to attend Saturday's game on the road can follow all the action live over the internet (live statslive video) and on social media (@WCUMountaineer@MountaineerFB).
