GUNNISON, Colo. – The forecasters are calling for a white out in Paul Wright Gym on Tuesday night as Western State Colorado University women's basketball hosts Colorado Mesa University. All fans are encouraged to wear white for the 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

The first fans through the gates will also receive a free white-out basketball t-shirt, courtesy of the Mountaineer women's and men's basketball programs.

Western (6-15, 3-12 RMAC) will look to avenge an early season loss to CMU (16-5, 10-5 RMAC). The Mountaineers fell to the Mavericks, 46-69 on the road in November.

The Mountaineers are currently 12
th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings with seven games left on the schedule. The top eight teams make the conference tournament.

Currently sixth in the conference in steals per game, the Mountaineers average 7.67 steals per competition. Helping solidify the defense is
Tammarrah Gothard, who ranks tied for the conference lead in total steals with 45.

On the other side of the court,
Katie Dalton leads the Western offensive attack. Dalton is averaging 10.4 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding, having grabbed 91 boards this season.

The Mavericks enter the week tied for fifth in the conference standings and have won five of their last six.

CMU's defense ranks third in the conference, allowing opponents just 53.7 points per game.

The Mavericks' two-prong offensive attack is led by Jaylyn Duran and Erin Reichle. Duran ranks second in the RMAC, averaging 15.8 points per game, while Reichle ranks third with 15.4 points per game on average.

Following Tuesday night's game, the Mountaineers will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for a Friday evening game against Westminster College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Griffins are eighth in the conference and are led by Denise Gonzalez. Gonzalez is averaging 14.3 points per game, which ranks fifth best in the RMAC.
