GUNNISON – Western State Colorado University men's basketball team fell to South Dakota School of Mines Saturday evening, 77-60, as Konor Kulas has a double-double 24 points and 13 boards, including nine offensive boards. The Mountaineers close the season next weekend at home against N.M. Highlands and CSU-Pueblo.

Kulas the Hardrockers efforts, allowing them to outscore the Mountaineers by eight in the paint and nine in second chance points. He also had three steals, helping outscore Western in points off of turnovers by 11.

Despite a quiet six points,
Ben Beauchamp ended the game with a team-high 18 points. Beauchamp did not hit a 3-pointer for just the third time this season. He also led the team with seven boards.

Brady Subart and
Will Duggan had 11 points apiece, while
Monroe Porters chipped in 10.

Deep shots were not happening for either team tonight. Western hit only three deep shots on 16 attempts, while Mines had six treys on 23 attempts.
