COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western State Colorado University volleyball faced the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on Saturday night on the road. The Mountaineers were unable to come away with a road victory, falling in three sets to the Mountain Lions (21-25, 14-25, 22-25).
 
Western (2-23, 1-15 RMAC) played UCCS (13-11, 10-6 RMAC) point for point on Saturday night.
 
In the first set, Western was out to a 19-18 lead. The Mountaineers had the advantage until a 5-0 run by the Mountain Lions, which eventually turned into a 25-21 set victory.
 
UCCS was able to take the second set 25-14 before winning the third 25-22.
 
Kiki Johnson led the Mountaineers in kills with nine, while teammate 
Kathleen Kasel added six.
 
Western will have their final home match of the season this Tuesday at 7 p.m. against New Mexico Highlands University. The Mountaineers will honor four seniors prior to the match, 
Logan Franek, 
Jordan Eatwell, 
McKenzie Price and 
Kaitlin Verhagen.
