LAKEWOOD, Colo. – For the second match in a row, Western State Colorado University's
Kathleen Kasel led the Mountaineers in points and kills. Unfortunately for the Mountaineers, they were unable to overcome a 2-0 deficit as they fell to the Colorado Christian University Cougars 3-1 (18-25, 19-25, 28-26, 14-25).

It took Western (1-18, 0-10 RMAC) two sets on Saturday night to hit their rhythm. Once they did, the Mountaineers were able to win the third set 28-26.

The third set was about as close as it gets. The largest lead of the set was only three points as both teams exchanged points throughout the set.

Kathleen Kasel once again led the Mountaineers in kills and points after leading the team a night before. Kasel recorded nine kills and one service ace for 10 points.

Western's
Emilee Scates added eight kills and setter
Hanna Hendrickson recorded 30 assists.

The Mountaineers return to Gunnison for their first of four home matches on Friday, Oct. 20 against South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
