SWIM | Mountaineers slated for week of duals

GUNNISON – With the reschedule of last Thursday's meet, Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving team will compete in three duals in the next week, and four meets in the next 11 days.

Western kicks off this stretch with a dual at Adams State Tuesday, January 10th, at 5 p.m. The Mountaineers will then host their second senior night since being reestablished, celebrating nine seniors against Colorado Mines at noon Saturday in Paul Wright Natatorium. Western heads to Colorado Mesa for the makeup meet on Monday the 16th at 1 p.m., then finish the regular season at the Colorado Classic on January 21st and 22nd.

The Mountaineers have six individuals in the top-100 in the nation in an event. They are led by Randi Yarnell who has three top-10 times in the nation. She is fifth in the 100 yard freestyle, the highest ranking of her four ranked events.

Western against Colorado Mines is tabbed to be an excellent meet. Both teams finished high at the conference meet, separated by less than 80 points last season.
