MBB | Beauchamp’s 32 not enough for Western

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Less than 24 hours off of a career-high 35 points, Western State Colorado University guard Ben Beauchamp put up 32 points against his former team, but came up short as the team lost, 85-72. Western heads back home for a day, just to turn back onto the road to take on Colorado Mesa University Tuesday evening in Grand Junction.

Beauchamp mixed up the shooting, scoring from all over the floor. The junior was eight of 17 from the field, including five of 10 from beyond the arc. He also converted on 11 of 12 free throw attempts. Beauchamp's back-to-back 30 point performances is the only such performance in the conference this season, and the third time he has done so this season. Beauchamp played in all but one minute of the game.

Also for Western, Brady Subart added 10 points, while James Willis had nine. Monroe Porter had a team-high nine boards.

For Black Hills, Zach McLemore had 28 points, and was joined by teammate Fraser Malcolm with 25 points.
