DENVER, Colo. – Western State Colorado University women's volleyball defeated Regis University in three straight sets (25-20, 25-21, 25-18) for the first victory against the Rangers since September in 2001. It was the first sweep since 1999. The Mountaineers (7-5, 3-1 RMAC) will finish the weekend at least tied for third in the conference.

The win over Regis will play into the conference outcome, with the Rangers defeating Colorado Mesa University last night in a five-set match.

Western played an efficient game with a team hitting percentage of .264. The defense stepped up as well, holding Regis to .130 hitting.

Tori Gaherty led the Mountaineer attack with 13 kills, hitting .273. She was joined by
Jordan Eatwell with eight kills and
Molly Hothan with six.
Allison Walker had an outstanding night with 34 assists, six kills and two aces with a perfect 1.00 hitting percentage.

Defensively,
Amanda Maestas led the team with 17 digs. She was joined by
Logan Franek and
Caiden Rexius with 11 digs apiece.

The Mountaineers continue their road streak against Adams State University and Fort Lewis College next weekend.
