CHADRON, Neb. – Western State Colorado University women's volleyball players
Molly Hothan and
Allison Walker had career nights to push Mountaineers over the peak in a comeback win over the Chadron State Eagles in a five-set (21-25, 26-24, 28-30, 25-23, 15-11) match in Chadron, Nebraska. Western (6-5, 2-1 RMAC) heads south to take on Regis University tomorrow evening in Denver at 5 p.m.

Hothan had a career-high 18 kills to lead the Mountaineers, hitting .406. She was joined by
Tori Gaherty with 17 kills and
Jordan Eatwell with 15. Setter
Allison Walker broke her career-high in assists with 55 total. She also had four kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks.

Defensively, the backcourt trio of
Logan Franek,
Caiden Rexius and
Amanda Maestas cleaned up the Eagles attack with more than 15 digs apiece. Franek had a career-high 17 digs to lead the team, while Rexius had a career-high 16 digs.
Amanda Maestas had 15 digs and five cleanup assists.

Up front, six Mountaineers had blocks, with Walker, Eatwell and Hothan each putting down a pair.

Despite being blocked 11 times, the Mountaineers had a .172 hitting percentage and held their opponents to a .146 hitting percentage.
