SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Western State Colorado University men's basketball team was blanketed Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah, as Westminster College won 82-61. Western returns home with a long week ahead of them before they host Adams State and Fort Lewis College next weekend.

For Western, the only shots that seemed to drop Friday evening was free throws. The Mountaineers sank 24 of their 27 free throw shots. After that, Western made just more than 28 percent of their shots from the field, including a season-low 26 percent from deep.

Collin Smith led the battle on both ends for the Mountaineers, scoring nine points and six boards.

Will Duggan all put in eight points apiece.

For the Griffins, Dayon Goodman scored a double-double to lead his team to victory. The big man was nine of 11 from the field shooting for 23 points, while tearing down 11 boards. He led a Griffins team that shot 51 percent from the field.

The Mountaineers were slowed down on all aspects of the game, as the team only had three assists and a pair of steals.
