LAS VEGAS, N.M. – Three Cowboys combined for 73 points and 22 rebounds to upend Western State Colorado University men's basketball team, 90-84, Friday evening in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Western heads North for a matchup with CSU-Pueblo tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m.

Ron Lawton and Marlon Johnson put up season-high marks against Western, with Lawton walking away with 28 points while Johnson had a double-double with 14 points and 18 boards and seven assists. The two Cowboys were joined by Atem Bior with 21 points, missing just a single shot all game.

For Western,
Will Duggan led all scorers with 19 points. The guard also had five assists. He was joined by
Patrick Sniff with a season-high 16 points and
Ben Beauchamp with 11 points. Beauchamp was perfect from beyond the arc, dropping three deep balls in the game.

The Mountaineers did honorably against the Cowboys, taking the lead in the second half and bringing the game within a single score twice in the final 10 minutes. Â Western held the lead for the first four minutes of the second half, then brought the game back into contention with just a two point deficit at the two minutes mark. After entering the free throw game, Beauchamp and Duggan both converted treys under a minute to bring the game to three points, but the Cowboys converted at the foul line.
