GUNNISON – Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving team will host CSU-Pueblo for the third dual of the season Friday at 5 p.m. The Mountaineers defeated the Thunderwolves earlier this year in Pueblo, winning 144 to 74.
 
The Mountaineers have been led by a pair of sophomores early in the season. Randi Yarnell has two top-50 times in the nation, while Ma'alaea Lawrence has a top-75 in the nation time. Yarnell is 24^th in 100 free and 48^th in the 100 backstroke, while Lawrence is 65^th in the 100 breaststroke.
 
Western last competed against Colorado Mesa. The meet was closer than the score indicated, as only two combined seconds were the difference between the loss and a victory. In the process eight pool records were dropped, and Western looks to drop a few more this Saturday.
 
The event is free to the public.
