GUNNISON, Colo. - With two matches remaining in the regular season, Western State Colorado University is still pushing to make the conference tournament for the first time in program history. Both matches will be played at Gateway Field this weekend.

Western (5-8-2, 3-6-1 RMAC) hosts New Mexico Highlands University (3-10-1, 3-7 RMAC) on Friday at 3 p.m. before hosting Colorado State University – Pueblo (11-3, 8-2 RMAC) at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

NMHU sits behind the Mountaineers by one point in the conference standings. CSU-Pueblo is in second place, vying for the number one seed heading into the conference tournament.

Sunday's match against CSU-Pueblo will also be senior day for five members of the Mountaineer squad. Making their final appearance at Gateway Field are seniors

Katelyn Mardeusz,
Rachel Sullivan,
Courtnee Urrea and
Victoria Valerio.

Sunday will mark the second graduating class for the Western women's soccer program. This class has most certainly left its mark in the career record book.

Engeman enters the weekend with the fourth most games played in school history (67). If she plays both matches, she will tie
Brianna Vega for the most matches played in a Western uniform. Also on the list is Urrea with 62 matches played and Sullivan with 56.

Mardeusz enters the weekend with five career goals, tied for the fourth most in program history, and her 10 career points ranks tied for eighth best.

The Mountaineers enter the weekend sitting 10
th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings. Western will need to be in eighth by the end of the weekend to make the conference tournament.

Western is trailing eighth place Adams State University by three points (one win) and seventh place Fort Lewis College by six points (two wins). Also ahead of the Mountaineers in ninth place by two points is Colorado Christian University.

The Mountaineers hold the tie-breaker against ASU, but the CCU Cougars have the advantage due to a +7 goal differential.

ASU hosts CCU on Friday before hosting the RMAC leading Colorado School of Mines Orediggers on Sunday. For CCU, after facing the Grizzlies on Friday, they travel to FLC on Sunday.
