GUNNISON – Western State Colorado University women's volleyball team fell to No.16-ranked Colorado School of Mines in four sets (13-25, 26-24, 25-27, 22-25). The Mountaineers bounce back tomorrow against Colorado Christian University for their annual 'Dig Pink' night.
 
Despite the first set, the Mountaineers played the Orediggers closely. Western held Mines to a .168 hitting percentage, as well as holding All-American Alanna Winfield to just eight kills and a .057 hitting percentage.
 
Jordan Eatwell led the attack for the Mountaineers with 13 kills. She was joined by 
Molly Hothan with 11. 
Allison Walker had 37 assists.
 
The Mountaineer defense was strong, with four Mountaineers with double digit digs led by 
Amanda Maestas' 22. 
Caiden Rexius had 12, while 
Avery Burkholder and Eatwell had 10. Burkholder led the Mountaineers with seven block assists, as the Mountaineers tallied 13 total blocks.
