SILVER CITY, N.M. – Western State Colorado University men's basketball team defeated Western New Mexico University, 64-61, Saturday evening in Silver City, N.M. Four Mountaineers scored in double-digits as the team came back in the final minutes to win the game.

Western was down by six with less than four minutes remaining in the game when an offensive rebound and a layup by
C.J. Schutt kick started a rally. Schutt stole the ball on the next Mustang possession and
Danny Hopkins laid it in for an and-one to make it a one point game. The final six Mountaineer shots came from the foul line, with Robert Rombero sinking all four of his free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

Romero led all Mountaineers with 15 points. He was a perfect five-for-five from the line and led the team with seven boards.
Ben Beauchamp sank half of his shots from the field for 12 points, while
Tom Folsom and
Danny Hopkins combined for 21 points led by Folsom's 11.

Will Duggan had six rebounds and four assists.

The Mountaineers shot 86 percent from the line in the game, a season-high. The team only missed a pair of free throws.
