GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving team will take on CSU-Pueblo in a dual Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. The meet will also be senior night for Mountaineer senior
Danielle Ginsburg.

Ginsburg is the first four-year swimmer since the program was reinstated in 2012. She has held numerous school records for the Mountaineers and is a two-time RMAC All-Academic selection. Ginsburg is currently the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President and has taken recent trips to South Dakota to represent the school in the conference SAAC meeting.

The Mountaineers are having the best season in program history thus far. After having the first-ever NCAA "B" cut occur a month ago, the team has continued on to put up four "B" cuts, school records in virtually every event and many more personal bests.

Western State currently boasts at least one person in the top-100 in the nation in every swimming event. The team has three top-15 individual times, seven top-30 times, 15 top-50 times and 28 top-100 individual times.

Leading the pack is standout freshman
Randi Yarnell. Yarnell is second in the nation in the 200 free, eighth in the 100 free, 13
th in the 100 fly, 28
th in the 50 free and 36
th in the 100 back. Right behind her with five top-100 marks is
Akemi King. King is 29
th in the 400 IM, 33
rd in the 200 fly, 43
rd in the 1,650, 59
th in the 1,000 free and 69
th in the 500 free.

Frances Ivers and
Alexandra Marsolek each have three top-100 times. Ivers is 24
th in the 1,650 free, 34
th in the 1,000 free and 49
th in the 500. Marsolek is 22
nd in the 100 breast, just .11 off the "B" cut for that event. She is also 37
th in the 200 breast and 43
rd in the 200 IM.

The Mountaineers have also performed strongly in the relays, with four of five relays in the top-20 nationally. The 800 free relay of Yarnell, Ivers,
Anna Kaiser and King hit a NCAA "B" cut mark in their first ever swimming of the event this season. The relay currently ranks 12
th in the nation. The two other free relays, the 200 and 400, are both 15
th in the nation. Yarnell, Aragon, Fitch and
Kate Hewson make up the 200 free while Yarnell, Aragon, Marsolek and Fitch make up the 400 relay. The 400 medley relay is 17
th in the nation with Yarnell, Marsolek, King and Aragon making up that one. The final relay is the 200 medley which is 37
th nationally. Martin, Fitch, Marsolek and Hewson make up the 200 medley relay.
