MBB | Mountaineers drop second game in Arkansas

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Western State Colorado University men's basketball loss to Rogers State University, 85-59, Saturday afternoon at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. The Mountaineers return home to take on Eastern New Mexico and Cameron University next weekend. Western State plays both games at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Paul Wright Gymnasium.
 
Western State never led in the game, as Rogers State had six individuals score double digit points. J. C. Hartzier led all scorers with 18 points, while Donald Moore had a game-high seven assists.
 
For the Mountaineers, Danny Hopkins found his stroke with a season-best 15 points on six field goals and three treys. C.J Schutt added in 11 points with five shots from the field.
 
Defensively, Robert Romero and Ben Beauchamp each tore down four boards. Beauchamp also had a team-high four assists.
 
Western State shot a season-best 39 percent from the field, including 48 percent in the second half.
