GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University women's swim and dive team open up the 2015-16 season in a dual at Colorado State University-Pueblo Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. The team will travel after the meet to stay and compete in Alamosa Saturday morning against Adams State. Competition Saturday begins at 11 a.m.
Western State comes off of a sixth place finish at the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference meet. The Mountaineers scored 304 points at the meet, two points behind Adams State in overall points. Cal-Baptist took the title with 1,053 points.
The Mountaineers have been tabbed seventh in the 205-16 RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, two votes behind Adams State and three behind CSU-Pueblo. Cal-Baptist received four first places votes and 46 total votes to take the preseason crown. Closely behind them is Lindenwood with three first place votes and 44 total votes.
